Xinput test not connected
This may be related to a somewhat known Windows issue where it has, hidden from view, associated the connected Xbox controller to a incorrect / not-expected "XInput Slot".Ĭheck the dedicated XInput slots order issues page for more info on how to check and solve this issue.

It's possible for the double input issue to actually make your controller NOT be detected by games, as such it should be the user's number one priority to prevent it before anything else. For users of HidHide, make sure that the HidHide Configuration Client is fully closed before opening DS4Windows, otherwise the "Ex" check may fail even though HidHide is correctly hiding the physical controller. If there is an X on the "Ex" column then it's possible for the double input issue to occur Headphone or mic related issues when using supported gamepads "Could not open (controller) exclusively" / Hide DS4 controllers option not working Game intentionally ignore virtual controllersĬontroller not behaving correctly in-game Game requires Steam Input to have support for DS4 controllers Game not recognizing the virtual Xbox controller or stops recognizing it upon controller reconnectionĬommon reasons for games to not detect virtual (emulated) DualShock 4 controllers Making sure the double controller (double input) issue is preventedĬonfirming the virtual controller is acting as expected What to fully confirm before anything else Games not recognizing the virtual controller (under construction) Virtual controller usage in games and related issuesĭS4Windows not creating virtual controllers Ways to check if a controller has been detected by Windows Physical controller detection, connection and related issues Troubleshooting tips and general directionsĭS4Windows silently does not open, crashes, does not start or fails to save settings Running DS4Windows under a custom ".exe" name Preventing conflicts between Steam and DS4Windows Uninstalling DS4Windows and related drivers Preventing the double controller / double input issue in gamesīacking up, restoring or deleting user data and settings

So, I’m really out of ideas and don’t know how I could debug this any further.Starting point, general info and directionsĬonnecting controllers to the PC and DS4Windows So even there, the events (clock & movement) can come from different slave devices - and it worked. I even realized, that also on this device there are two build-in pointers - the trackball and the touchpad. To check this further, I used an old wacom tablet on a bare-metal session (which also emits absolute coordinates). If I run xinput test-xi2 2 (on the “virtual core pointer”) though, I get the very same behavior as with a “real” mouse on a “real” system - except that I get absolute coordinates rather than movement offsets. The second one (id 9) is the one producing the move events with absolute coordinates. The first (id 11) is the one, producing the button press/release events. ⎜ ↳ ImExPS/2 Generic Explorer Mouse id=11

Ah, there are actually two pointer devices provided by vbox: ❯ xinput
